What is Pay Per Click (PPC)

To put it simply PPC works by the advertiser selecting appropriate keywords that will then trigger their adverts. When a user types in the keywords the advert is displayed. If the user clicks on the advert then the advertiser pays, hence the phrase Pay Per Click. Compared to other forms of marketing PPC is very cost effective after all you only pay for the clicks that you receive. Unfortunately many PPC campaigns especially those on Google Adwords have been poorly set up and are often not returning adequate (ROI).

Should you use Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) or PPC?
